Colossians 1:9-13

Colossians 1:9-13, "For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that you might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. That you might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; Giving thanks unto the Father, which has made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who has delivered us from the power of darkness, and has transferred us into the kingdom of his dear Son:"

Do Not Love The World

The Christian Church during its inception was noticeably set apart from the world. Today we must continue to be "Sanctified", which means, "to be set apart, and holy, separated from sin." As followers of Christ, we can't dwell in the mist of sin without delivering Christ message in some way. Its important that we do not become overwhelmed with the World's entertainment (de-tained for entry) or music. Its important that we turn away from the World, and turn toward Christ.

1 John 2: 15-17,"15Do not love or cherish the world or the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in him. 16For all that is in the world--the lust of the flesh [craving for sensual gratification] and the lust of the eyes [greedy longings of the mind] and the pride of life [assurance in one's own resources or in the stability of earthly things]--these do not come from the Father but are from the world [itself]. 17And the world passes away and disappears, and with it the forbidden cravings (the passionate desires, the lust) of it; but he who does the will of God and carries out His purposes in his life abides (remains) forever.

How as Christians, can we continue to use the World's entertainment and say it's not effecting us. We can't, we have to beware of what we allow to enter us, through our eyes, ears, or through physical contact. We will begin to crave for what we allow to enter-tain us. We must continue to feed on things that will enhance us spiritually, we can't improve both spiritually and naturally. We have to drop everything and follow Jesus Christ,

Matthew 4:19,"19And He said to them, Come[a]after Me [as disciples--letting Me be your Guide], follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men!"

Matthew 19:21,"21Jesus answered him, If you would be perfect [that is,[a]have that spiritual maturity which accompanies self-sacrificing character], go and sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have riches in heaven; and come,[b]be My disciple [side with My party and follow Me]."

When we begin our walk with Christ we first must count the cost (Luke 14:28) and understand that his ways are not our ways (Isaiah 55:8) , and we will have to let go of the very things that we cherished most in our sinful state in order to follow him. We can't bring the lusts of the World, and the sin that we once had dominion over us, because we Must Worship Him In Spirit And In Truth (John 4:24). We must depend on the Holy Spirit to Lead us and to help us achieve holiness. It's the Spirit of the Lord that breaks addictions, and opens our eyes to the deception of the enemy. But it is also up to us, to Listen and willfully pray and seek the Lord about who and what we are allowing to entertain us.

As Christians, we must separate ourselves and submit to the will of God, his presence will not rest upon those who are Worldly and halfhearted. The outcome of christians who haven't turned away from the World is currently what can be seen in some Churches today around the Globe. Allowing HIP-HOP, and loving HOLLYWOOD so much that we put our Christian standards to the side and magnify there status in the WORLD!! We should embrace them with charity, and direct them towards Christ and not support their Anti-Christ Lifestyle.

When we begin to allow this, this dilutes the authority of the Church, because it opens the door for mockery from those who are in the World. Lets sanctify ourselves unto the Lord, so that he may pour into us more of his Spirit, so that we can be used by him to reach those who are lost and have never known him!!!!!
