Colossians 1:9-13

Colossians 1:9-13, "For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that you might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. That you might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; Giving thanks unto the Father, which has made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who has delivered us from the power of darkness, and has transferred us into the kingdom of his dear Son:"

Have you submitted to the Spirit of This World?

1 John 2:15-17, "Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the LUST OF THE FLESH, and the LUST OF THE EYES, and the PRIDE OF LIFE, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever."

Romans 6:16, "Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?"

Have you submitted to the Spirit of This World? Saints are God's chosen people set apart and separated from the World. Saints are distinctively and clearly different from those who are of this world. Saints don't submit to the lust of this World nor do they meditate upon them. Saints of the most high do not share the same morals and values of those who love the World.

Where are God's people? Few and far between are set apart and detached from this evil and cruel world. Wonder why the world MOCK's God. Are you adding to his mockery, by claiming to be a follower, but your thoughts are aligned with those of this world. Are you concerned with what concerns the people of this World, or are your thoughts focused on the things that are above, and that are everlasting?

The grace of Jesus Christ is being misused, the creation is taking advantage of the creator. Turn away from the World and its lust. Focus only on the things above, entertain yourselves with things that bring life and not death. You will become like what you meditate on. Remember Jesus is coming back for a Church without spot or blemish. We must give him all of our lives, 100%, leaving no room for the Spirit of this World.

Don't depart from the manuscript that he has given us. Meditate upon the Word of The Lord day and night, without ceasing. Our lives are a sacrifice, this is how we deny ourselves, by seeking his will continually without ceasing. Deny yourself, and you will grow spiritually, and your faith will increase. There is nothing else in this World that is more important that continually being washed with his Word. The choices we make today, determine where we will be in eternity. Don't wait on the end of the world to get your life right, because your world might end tomorrow!

What are you asking from the Lord?

Luke 11:5-13, "he said unto them, Which of you shall have a friend, and shall go unto him at midnight, and say unto him, Friend, lend me three loaves; For a friend of mine in his journey is come to me, and I have nothing to set before him? And he from within shall answer and say, Trouble me not: the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give thee.

I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will rise and give him as many as he needeth. And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?"

This scripture is often misused as away for people to get their Worldy Lust fulfilled using scripture to back it up, but if you read the entire passage, starting at verse one through thirteen, you will see what Jesus's true point was with this scripture. It wasn't for possessions, but for the Holy Spirit.

This text wonderfully explains the importance of persistence and praying according to the will of God. In order to pray effectively we must know what his will is. His will is known to us through prayer and time spent with the Lord. Jesus clearly states in verse 13 that he will give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him, explaining that it isn't given without persistence. The Gift of the Holy Spirit is freely given be in order to receive it we must persistently pursue it. The pursuit of a deeper knowledge and relationship with Christ doesn't stop once we receive the Holy Spirit, nor does the persistence that we once had to receive it.

We must continue to passionately seek his will and allow the Holy Spirit to transform us into his image. His image in which that the fruit of the Spirit are manifested within our lives. Lets pick up the pace, and seek the Lord like there is no tomorrow. Its God we are talking about here!!
